Instrumental Music Pastor
Edwin Parker has been the Associate Minister of Music at Colonial Heights Baptist Church since November of 2008. He married his wife, Andrea, on Governor's Island in New York City, where they met while they were on staff at large church there. They have two children, Camille and Sebastian, who are a joy to see grow. Recently, he had the opportunity to baptize his daughter and to see the Lord work in both of his children's lives.
Edwin grew up in Texas where, in seventh grade, he knew that he was to pursue a career in music. After receiving his bachelor of music degree at the Eastman School of Music and his master of music degree at the Manhattan School of Music, he started his career as a professional musician in New York City. God soon called him into the ministry where he served as staff writer/musician at Times Square Church, and an associate pastorate and music pastorate in Texas. He is committed to developing a place where musicians can come and use their gifts and talents for the Lord. One of his greatest joys, however, is having his wife, who is a wonderful singer, serve with him in ministry.
Edwin loves to read non-fiction and visit the places of rich historical significance in the central Virginia area.
